Marjorie Humer, 89, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Normal, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 Monday, August 1, 2016 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rosary at 3:45 with Catholic Daughters in attendance. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Marjorie was born May 6, 1927 in Dimmick, Illinois to Leo and Katherine (Weldon) McNally. She married Eugene on September 5, 1953 in St. Patrick's Church; he passed away May 5, 2008. She worked for Westclox in the shipping department in Peru for many years and retired from circulation department at The Daily Times after 15 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, The Catholic Daughter's of the Americas, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She volunteered at Ottawa Community Hospital and Pleasant View Nursing Home. Marge attended a one room school house in Dimmick, and then St. Xavier's Girls Academy. She enjoyed spending winters in Daytona Beach, Florida with her husband. While in Florida she enjoyed walking the beaches, visiting lighthouses, and spending time with her friends. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards and doing crosswords.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Barbara) Humer of Normal and Robert (Kristine) Humer of Chicago; three grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Humer and John Humer both of Tolono, IL., and Jackie (Paul) Klein of Seymour, IL.; and four great-grandchildren, Addison, Ellen, and Margaret Klein, and Kinsley Humer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; and five brothers, Francis, Jim, Bob, Harold "Tip", and Tom McNally.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church or to The Alzheimer's Association.
