Marjorie Facer

Marjorie W. Facer, 96, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Heritage Health in Mendota.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Saturday, December 18 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, prior to services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Marjorie was born January 18, 1925, in Chicago to George and Lydia (Strand) Hayes. She married Edward J. Facer on September 7, 1946 at St. Gabriel's Church in Chicago; he passed away December 29, 2011.

Marjorie worked as an operator for the draft board during WWII. She then worked as a secretary. She was a member of St. Columba Church and Catholic Daughters of America where she was past regent. She loved to knit and crochet and was a lifelong Duke Basketball fan. She had a great time dancing with Patty Gray, and was also an avid puzzle-worker. Most importantly, Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she cherished the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana (John) Krug of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) and Mathew (Jan) Krug, both of Ottawa, and Danielle (Eric) Majcen of Chicago; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jack, Laura, Leah, and Layne; one great-great-granddaughter, Nova Mae; one sister, Lillian Berryhill; one brother, William (Mary Jane) Hayes; and her dear friends, Debbie Kleckner and Jenny Taylor.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Alice and June; five brothers, Harold, Johnny, Al, Gil, and Russell; and one great-great-granddaughter, Scarlett Kay.

Pallbearers will be Jason Krug, Andrew Krug, Matt Krug, Eric Majcen, Jack Majcen, and Stuart McDaniel.
