Marion Osborne, 89, of Seneca, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Morris, IL. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Christ Episcopal Church in Ottawa, with Rev. John Crist officiating. Following services, presentation of colors will take place at church. A gathering will be at Andrews above Spring Brook Marina in Seneca from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, following services at Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Marion was born October 20, 1920 in Lyndon, IL, to Lester and Clara (Ryan) Osborne. He married Anna Caufield June 21, 1951 in Davenport, IA at St. Anthony Church. He was educated in the Schools in Erie, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sergeant and then attended Blackhawk College. He graduated from St. Louis College of Mortuary Science. Marion was the owner/operator of the Osborne-Pfeiffer Funeral Home in Seneca. He also served as LaSalle County Coroner from 1976-1996. He was a member of the Illinois Valley Chief of Police, Illinois Police Association, Illinois Coroner's Association, AF & AM Lodge #667 in Erie, IL, was Chairman of the Seneca Port Authority, and was a former member of the Seneca Lions, and American Legion Kasal Post #457 of Seneca. Marion is survived by three sons, Alan (Cheryl) of Marseilles, David (Patty) of Seneca, and Jeremy of Austin, TX; five grandchildren, Vanessa, Allison, Kaitlyn, Ryan, and Michael. Marion is preceded in death by his wife, Anna; and one brother, Milton "Pee Wee" of Erie, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Donor's Choice or toward a College Scholarship in honor of Marion.
