Marion Marie Kuhn, 89, a life long resident of Seneca, died May 15, 2009 at River Shore Rehab and Nursing Center after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca with the Msgr. Raymond Boyle officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Tuesday, May 19 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home with prayers at 7 pm. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Marion was born in Seneca on September 13, 1919 to Wallace and Emma (Pfeffer) Hayne. She attended St. Patrick's Grade School, Seneca High School, and St. Francis College. Deciding that the business world best suited her talents, she graduated from Browns School of Business in Ottawa and became an Executive Secretary. During WWII she worked at the Seneca Shipyard, and then for the Bakelite Corporation. While raising her family she worked for General Electric Corporation for 15 years. In 1949 she married Francis Kuhn. They lived and raised four children together on the family farm. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Seneca, and the Altar and Rosary Society. In addition to enjoying her work, Marion was a prolific letter writer, maintaining friendships with childhood and college friends, co-workers, and extended family. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters; Janet (James) LaBelle of Zion and Eileen (Vince) Bustamante of Humble, TX; one son, Michael (Susan) Kuhn of Waukegan, IL; eleven grandchildren, John (Catherine), Joseph (Andrea), James, Jeffrey (Fiance Dale Darnell) and Jacob LaBelle; Matthew, Emily, and Kaitlin Kuhn, Neil (Fiance Katherine Dow), Joel and Ben Bustamante and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Wallace; a brother, Russell Hayne and his wife, Ruth; a brother-in-law, Everett Kuhn and his wife Loretta and a sister-in-law Agnes Green and her husband Theodore. Pallbearers will be John, Joseph, James, Jeffrey, and Jacob LaBelle; Emily and Kaitlin Kuhn. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church in Seneca or to the American Cancer Society.
