Marilyn Laatz, 76, of Utica, IL, died, Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Waltham Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Monday, January 10 at Ottawa Funeral Home, and one hour at church on Tuesday. Burial will be private. Marilyn was born Sunday, August 26, 1934, in LaSalle, IL to Harold and Minnie (Mitchell) Chalus. She married Roger Laatz on November 3, 1953 in Utica. She was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Lisa (Martin) Schmitz of Utica; one grandson, Michael Zmudka of Utica; one sister, Phyllis (Harold) Rafalski of Sarasota Fl.; and one brother Ronald (Linda) Chalus of Utica. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Julian Chalus. Memorials may be directed to the Waltham Presbyterian Church general fund.
