Marilyn J. Dudgeon

January 8, 1926 — December 14, 2010

Marilyn (Munks) Dudgeon, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 14 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center with her family by her side. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 20 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Walker officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 19 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park. Marilyn was born January 8, 1926 in Ottawa to Charles and Dora (Zenor) Munks. She married Kenneth Dudgeon on November 11, 1962. He passed away in 1982. Marilyn graduated from Ottawa High School in 1943 and attended Lake Forest College. She became Glass Workers Credit Union first employee in 1951 and served as President of the Credit Union (now Financial Plus Credit Union) from 1954 to 1979. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Marilyn volunteered many hours to the Elks Club, Junior Women's Club and Reruns in Ottawa. She also was involved with the Ottawa Lions Club. She loved to play bridge, travel and go antiquing. Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Gerry) Burkart of Ottawa, Nanette (Steve) Taller of Morris, IL, a step-daughter, Karen Dudgeon of Ottawa; two sons, Jack (Mary Kay) Teausant of Ottawa and Terry (Jean Pyszka) Teausant of Peru, IL; seven grandchildren, Travis (Chris) Teausant, Danielle (Morgan) McCarthy, Kenny Teausant, Andrea Mullins, Benjamin Taller, Jonathan Taller, Willow Taller; three great-grandchildren, Lily and Emily Mullins and Addison McCarthy; and three brothers, Ted (Gladys)Munks of Harvard, IL., Joel (Angie) Munks of Ottawa, and David (Lannette) of Bend, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Munks, her mother Dora Munks, her husband, Kenneth Dudgeon, and a step-daughter Suzann Conley. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Taller, Jonathan Taller, Kenny Teausant, Travis Teausant, Morgan McCarthy and Tim O'Donnell. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or the Salvation Army.
