Marilyn (Aussem) Battistelli, 82, of Ottawa, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Marilyn was born July 21, 1928, in Ottawa to Ermin and Helen (Rossiter) Aussem. She married Raymond P. Battistelli on April 26, 1950, at St. Columba Church. He died Oct. 23, 1996. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Ottawa. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Michael) Sullivan and Laura (Phil) McNally, both of Ottawa, and Cathy of Lake Zurich; two sons, Robert (Michele) and Brian (Heather) Battistelli, both of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Steven McNally, Aaron, Ryan, Brenda, Felicia, Michaella, Cecilia and Vincenzo Battistelli; one great-grandchild, Brennan McNally; one sister, Phyllis Smith of Ottawa; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Agnes and Barb Battistelli; and a brother-in-law, Ed Miller. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband; and one brother, Paul E. Aussem. Pallbearers will be Jim Smith, Tom Miller, Joe Malley and her grandchildren.
