Marie Monheim

Marie Monheim 68, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at St.Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, IL. with her brother by her side.

Visitation will be at the Ottawa Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 pm at St. Columba Church officiated by Monsignor Mark Merdian in Ottawa. Her burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery following Mass.

Marie was born September 25, 1955 to Ruth and Lawrence Monheim from Ottawa, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by 3 siblings, Walter of Olin, NC, Larry of Palm Springs, CA, and Marcia Dowding (Michael) of Blue Springs, MO. and 4 nieces and nephews.

Marie enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles with her father and playing solitaire. She was a good caretaker for her father in his later years. She took him to Mass every Sunday and made sure he got to all of his Dr. Appts. She was a client for many years at Friendship Village and had many friends there.

The pallbearers will be Richard Monheim, Brian Dowding, Brian Booth,  Landon Frazier, John Pelliccione, and Steve Skerhutt.
