OTTAWA -- Marie A. Crowley, 98, of Ottawa, died Monday, Oct. 22, at Pleasant View Luther Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Church with the Rev. Gerald Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mrs. Crowley was born Aug. 25, 1909, in Oglesby, to Andrew and Margaret (Audo) Barto. She married Vincent Crowley on June 16, 1934, in Ottawa. He died April 8, 1963. She retired in 1974 as a nurse at Ryburn King Hospital and Community Hospital of Ottawa. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She is survived by a son, Vincent (Nancy) Crowley of Villa Park; a son-in-law, Emmett Dougherty, with whom she lived; five grandchildren, Patrick Dougherty, Kelli Peddicord, Susan Gerding and Elizabeth and Sean Crowley; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Dougherty; two sisters, Katherine Swingel and Florence Marini; and two brothers, Andrew and Albert Barto. Pallbearers will be Ron and Dan Peddicord, Steve and Connor Gerding, Sean Crowley and Bill Dougherty. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
