Marguerite M. (Maloney) Wheeler

Marguerite “Marge” (Maloney) Wheeler of Ottawa, age 88, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Ottawa Pavilion.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, February 12 at St. Francis Church. The Rosary will be said with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas at 9:30 am, prior to services, at the church. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Marge was born on July 8, 1932 in Chicago, IL. She attended St Bernard Grammar School in Englewood and the Loretto Academy in Woodlawn, graduating in 1951. She was married to her loving husband Robert for 51 years until his death in 2013. Her Catholic faith was important to her and she was active in the choir and the eucharistic ministry at St. Francis Church in Ottawa for many years. She was also involved in the Ottawa Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America. Marge worked for the Ottawa Elementary School District as a school bus driver and she especially loved the youngest children on her routes. She loved to sing and was a member of the local chapter of the Sweet Adelines International.

Marge is survived by her two children, grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her sister Regina Brady, and her parents Harris and Regina Maloney.
