Margary Doogan

Margary Doogan, 94, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Pleasant View Lutheran Home in Ottawa.

Funeral Service  for Margary will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00AM, at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Pastor Phil Potaczek will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Margary was born June 29, 1928, in Ottawa, IL, to Arthur and Vera (Sausen) Hilpipre. She married Thomas Doogan on April 10, 1948 at First Congregational Church of Christ.  Thomas preceded her in death on April 18, 1999.

Margary loved gardening and frequently made bouquets with her flowers. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She often traveled with Thomas, before his passing, and also with her friends. Margary was a Campfire Director and then leader for many years.

Margary is survived by her daughter, Sandra Mocchetti of Sycamore; and her grandson, Michael Scott Sisk. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas H. Doogan; a son, Daniel Mark Doogan; her sister, Barbara (Guy) Abbott; her brother in law, Richard (Corinne) Doogan; and her son in law, Charles Mocchetti.
