Margaret J. Johnson, 88, of Ottawa, formerly of Seneca, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with TerryAnn Dumyahn, Pastor at Vitas Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Seneca. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the services, Thursday at the funeral home.

Margaret was born March 17, 1928 in her Seneca home, to Ernest and Beatrice (Spinney) Rivett. She married Ray Johnson February 14, 1948 at her parents' home in Seneca; he passed away August 20, 1999.

Margaret was a secretary for Manlius Township. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seneca for 66 years.

She is survived by one son, Rich Johnson; two daughters, Kathleen (Eugene) Olsen, and Deborah Fitzmaurice; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Johnson; six grandchildren, Michelle Goings, Julie Truesdale, Paula Aukland, Amy Jimenez, Elizabeth Johnson, and Justine Fitzmaurice; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tommy Aukland, Sara Benckendorf, Doug Johnson, Emalee Henry, Mandi Johnson, Collin Aukland, Jade Jimenez, Preston Aukland, Maera Jimenez, Gwenny Jimenez, Trinity Hale, Margaret Mucci, and Cameron Mucci; three great-great-grandchildren, Marlee Henry, Malachi Richard, and Tyler Richard; two brothers, Chuck (Isabelle) Rivett and Robert Rivett; one sister, Barbara (John) Summers; and her childhood friend, Wanda Grotti.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; three brothers, John, Burt, and Paul, and her son-in-law, Russell Fitzmaurice.

Pallbearers will be Justin Mucci, Paul Rivett, Amy Jimenez, Luis Jimenez, Collin Aukland, and Preston Aukland. Honorary pallbearer will be Justine Fitzmaurice.

Memorials may be directed to Vitas Hospice or the First United Methodist Church in Seneca.
