Margaret E. Jobst

Margaret E.Jobst, 83, of Ottawa, IL, died, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2009 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with the Rev. Gerald Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Thursday, March 5 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Margaret was born June 5, 1925, in Portage, WI, to the late Alex Melland and the late Edna Biddle. She married Ralph Jobst on March 1, 1944 at Fort Ord California. He died November 27, 1985. She retired from Financial Plus Credit Union in 1987. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Catholic Daughters of Americas, Ottawa Elks Lodge 588, a 20 year member of St. Francis Choir, and LaSalle County Home Extension. She was founder of Illinois Chapter Sweet Adelines and had been Publicity Chairman of Ottawa Riverfest. She is survived by two daughters; Jane Jobst and Mary (Tom) Clair both of Ottawa, three sons; Michael (Joan), Tim (Jane), and Tom (Ellen) Jobst all of Ottawa; nine Grandchildren, and nine Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, parents, 2 sisters, Wilma Thomas and Carole Ann Janssen, and a brother, Allen Melland. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to LaSalle County Nursing Home.
