Margaret Louise Gretencord, 85, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, September 11, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Stevenson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to services on Friday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be held following services. Margaret was born September 21, 1929 in Ottawa, to Earl and Louise (Passini) Taylor. She married Alfred Gretencord on February 15, 1947 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa; he passed away July 26, 2001. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, crocheting, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She loved making cookies and breads for everyone at Christmas time. She is survived by her five children, Linda Pate, Dennis (Marsha) Gretencord, Dave (Diane) Gretencord, Judy Gretencord, and Susan (Ed) Riebe; three siblings, Betty (Joe) Deak, Earl (Betty) Taylor, and John (Joyce) Taylor; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Mary Jo Gretencord; one son, Al Gretencord; and one son-in-law, Bobby D. Pate. Memorials may be directed to Red Stocking.
