Margaret Farrell

Margaret (McDermott) Farrell, 63, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Columba Church with Rev David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2014 with prayers at 3:45 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in at a later date at St. Columba Cemetery. Margaret was born October 10, 1951 in Ottawa, Illinois to Frank and Helen (Nudd) McDermott. She married Terry Farrell on October 14, 1972 at St. Joseph Church in Marseilles. Margaret worked for the Ottawa Hospital and had been the manager at Ravlin Congregate. She was a member of St. Columba Church. She is survived by her husband, Terry; two sons, Ryan and Dan (Molly) Farrell both of Ottawa; one daughter, Meagan (Mark) Daoust of Inver Grove Heights, MN; seven grandchildren, Sean, Evan, and Lydia Farrell, Helen, John, Edmund and George Daoust; her mother-in-law, Marge Farrell of Ottawa; three brothers, Jerry (Dee) McDermott of Evanston, Bill (Diane) McDermott of Oak Park, John (Anna) McDermott of Springfield; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Rich) Gelbuda of Ottawa and Rita (Wally) May of North Aurora; her brother in-laws, Michael (Camilla) Farrell Grand Ridge, Rick (Connie) Farrell of Celebrations, Fl., Bill (Rhonda) Farrell of Swansen, IL, and Larry (Debra) Aimone; two sisters-in-laws, Kay Ann McDermott Leesburg, VA, and Kathy (Tim) Farrell of Ottawa; thirty five nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Francine Aimone; and one brother, Larry McDermott. Pallbearers will be Mark McDermott, Jeff McDermott, Jim Farrell, Brian Farrell, Matt McDermott, and Bill Gelbuda. Memorials may be directed to the family.
