Margaret "Peg" Davis

Margaret "Peg" Davis, 97, of Seneca, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Rivershores Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marseilles. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca with Rev. Ray Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 to time of service at St. Patrick's Church, West Union Street, in Seneca. She will be buried at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Peg was born July 27, 1915, in Vienna Township, Grundy County, Illinois, to Francis and Gertrude (Judge) O'Malley. She married Robert J. Davis on September 10, 1954, in St. Patrick's Rectory in Seneca. He passed away August 11, 1982. She retired from E.I. DuPont Seneca Works after 38 years of service in 1974. She was a Professional Certified Secretary. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Seneca, St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society, National Secretary Association, Delta Theta Tau Alumni Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary Kasal Post Unit 457, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 6049, American Association of Retired Persons, Genealogy Guild of the LaSalle County Historical Society, Grundy County Farm Bureau, and chairman of Seneca's 100th Centennial Celebration held in 1965, which was one of the most successful celebrations sponsored by the John B. Rogers Company. Peg is survived by cousins in the United States, Canada, and Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Robert Readers will be Denise (Kasten) Bernstein and Kelsey O'Malley Griffin. Gifts will be presented by Luella Rooney and Pat Bailey. Pallbearers will be Fran Kasten, Bruce and Brad Baker, Terry Rooney, Brian Anderson, and Michael Paulus. Honorary Pallbearers are Dolores (Coss) Phillips, Elaine (Kasten) Paulus, and Kelsey O'Malley Griffin. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church Building Fund.
