Madelyn Shanley

Madelyn Shanley, 93, of Ottawa, IL passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 at Pleasant View. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 PM at Ottawa Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date. Madelyn was born December 12, 1916 in Dalzell, IL to Louis and Vera (Chioni) Pererdi. She married John "Garland" Shanley September 9, 1939 in Peru, IL. She was a member of St. Columba Church. Madelyn is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Keith) Severson of Ottawa; two sons, John (Donna) Shanley of St. Charles, MO and Mark (Pamela) Shanley of Crescent Springs, KY; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Bockovich Wilson and one brother, Dominic Perardi. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant View Nursing Home or The Reddick Library.
