Mabel Dorsett

Mabel Dorsett, 76, of Ottawa, Illinois, died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home. A family gathering will be 12:00 - 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 733 Caton Street, Ottawa, Illinois. A Memorial Service will follow immediately with the Hospice Chaplain officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Mabel was born July 4, 1935, on an Indian Reservation in Chattanooga, Tennessee to John and Maddie (Waldon) Couch. She is survived by one son, Tom Dorsett of Ottawa; two daughters, Sandra Ellis of Peru and Kerry (Chris) Nelson of Earlville; seven grandchildren, Trina Johnson, Joey Dorsett, Dean Zobar Jr., Stephanie Jonassen, Shayna Dorsett, Christopher Dorsett, and Cynthia Dorsett; one sister, Jean Benson; and one brother, Chan Couch. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Memorials may be directed to the family.
