Lyle Russell Hamm

Lyle Russell Hamm, 76, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018. Private family services will be held at a later date. He will be buried in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with his cremation. Lyle was born April 18, 1942, in Ottawa, Illinois to William and Dorothy (Westcott) Hamm. He married Margaret Liedtka December 19, 1959 in Ottawa, Illinois. He proudly served in the United States Navy in security at the Great Lakes Naval Base. Anyone who has ever met Lyle know's he loved his family; especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; four children, Patricia (Thomas) Hoxsey, Russell Hamm, Kenneth Hamm, and David Hamm; nine grandchildren, Phillip Hoxsey, Bradley Hoxsey, Randall Hoxsey, Ashley Hamm, Kyle Hamm, Kortney Hamm, Jake Hamm, Sabrina Hamm, and Tia Hamm; two great grandchildren, Grayson and Vincent Hamm; and two siblings, Louella Bisgrove and Terry West. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Billy Hamm and David West. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
