Lucille C. Bellott, 82, of Aurora, IL formerly of Streator and Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Monday February 1, 2010 at the Aurora Rehabilitation and Living Center. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 am Friday February 5, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Halfacre of St. Patrick's Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Lucille was born January 4, 1928 in Marseilles, IL to James Vincent and Catherine (O'Connor) White. She married Dr. B. J. Bellott on May 1, 1948 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He died in 1989. She is survived by five children, Kathy Bellott of Peoria, Joe Bellott of Streator, Barb (Jim) Faber of St.Louis, MO, Barry (Sheila) Bellott of Aurora, and Julie (Scott) Dunkin of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; and one brother, Jim (Lorraine) White of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister Mary Jule Zoran. Lucille was a graduate of Marseilles High School. As a young adult, she was a homemaker. Later in life, she attended Waubonsee Community College and then worked as an accounting clerk in Aurora and Bloomington. Throughout her life, Mrs. Bellott was active in her community and in her church. She was a leader and served as President of the Mother of Twins Club, K of C Ladies, American Legion Auxiliary, and St. Mary's Parents Club. In recognition of her community service work, she was inducted into the Gallery of Ageless Achievers by the Illinois Agency on Aging. She will be remembered for her love of family, strong faith and independent spirit. She was known for her creative crafts, homemade candy and Irish Luck at Bingo. She enjoyed travel and saw much of the country with her husband and children in a tent, trailer and boat as members of the National Campers and Hikers Association. She was also a loyal Cubs Fan.
