Louie R. Black, 82, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Ottawa Pavilion. Graveside service for Louie will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Arrangements are entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Louie was born August 4, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Dorothy (Barrow) Black. He married Clara Vickers on October 7, 1978 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa. He served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1952. He worked for the hospital where he retired from after 27 years. He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard L. Black of Gilbert City, Arizona; one daughter, Dorothy Nayler of Bloomington; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and his Toy Poodle, Angel Baby Black. He is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Louise Green; and his granddaughter, DJ Davis. Memorials may be directed to the family.
