Lois Steep

Lois Steep, 84, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Pleasant View. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 4-8PM and on Friday July 4, 2014 from 10-11AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 11AM, with Pastor Kris Zierke, Pastor Phillip Peterson, and Pastor Peter Ward officiating. Burial will be in Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery. Lois was born April 30, 1930, in Morris, Illinois, to Jasper and Lettie (Clauson) Jelm. She married William Steep on February 27, 1954. She retired from the EI DuPont/Reichhold Corporation. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Women of the ELCA organization, a volunteer at Morris Hospital, and Seneca Home Extension. She is survived by her husband, William Steep; one son, David (Jill) Steep, three daughters, Jean (Jim) Yarbrough, Janet (Bryan) Kiper, and Joan (David) Green; seven grandchildren, Katie Kilker, Kristi Kiper McNichol, Keith Kiper, Michael Steep, Cassandra Yarbrough Kramer, Kyle Kiper, and Maggie Yarbrough; and seven great grandchildren, Brady and Ethan Kilker, Evan and Madelyn Kiper, Murray McNichol, and Jack and Nick Steep; and one sister Helen (Fred) Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and her brother, Lloyd Jelm. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and her nephew Mark Olson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the Pleasant View Chapel Fund.
