Lois A. Smith, 69, of Ottawa, IL passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 9-11:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw the cremation. Lois was born March 3, 1941 in Ottawa, IL to George and Berenice (Johnson) Miner. She married Ken Smith October 11, 1958 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa. She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, the Grandmother's Bowling League, the Butterfinger Bowling League, Ladies of the Moose Lodge, and also served as an officer of the Ottawa Woman's Bowling Leagues.Lois had a love for boating and will be sadly missed by all. Lois is survived by her husband, Ken, of Ottawa; four daughters, Kerry Smith of Galesburg, Lisa (John) Donohue of Ottawa, Janice Sorenson of Ottawa, and Erika Butzen of Buda, IL; one son, Kurt (Kim) Smith of Fairfield, IL; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Miner of Ottawa. She is preceded by four grandchildren; one bother, John Miner; and one sister, Mary Ellen Jensen. Memorials may be directed to the family.
