Lloyd C. Lawsha

Lloyd Cruise Lawsha, 80, of LaSalle, formerly of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at LaSalle Veterans Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Services and also with the Knights of Columbus in attendance. Lloyd was born February 6, 1932 in Ottawa, Illinois to Lloyd and Ethel (Cruise) Lawsha. He married Beverly Fox on May 30, 1953. She passed away February 13, 2003. He attended St. Patrick's School and was a 1950 Marquette High School grad, which was the first class of boys. He was retired from LOF for 40 years and also worked as a real estate broker. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was a LaSalle County Board member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, American Legion, AMVETS, and AARP. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict where he received a purple heart. Lloyd was always a hard worker who lived his life to the fullest and loved his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by one son, Michael (Jo Ann) Lawsha of Ottawa; two daughters, Deborah (Theodore) Pumo, Jr. and Cheryl Lawsha, both of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Shelly Lawsha Jordan, Christopher (Jennifer) Lawsha, Thomas Pumo, and Christopher (Sandi) Hawk; six great grandchildren, Jimmy Lawsha, Cameron Lawsha, Tyler Jordan, Rivers Jordan, Carrington Herman, and Hunter Herman; and one brother, Robert Lawsha. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one son, Thomas; and one brother, Richard. Pallbearers will be Ted Pumo, Jr., Thomas Pumo, Jo Ann Lawsha, Chris Hawk, Chris Lawsha, and Shelly Lawsha Jordan. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church, LaSalle Veterans Home Activity Fund, or Marquette Academy High School.
