Linda Lou (Kirchner) Carroll returned to her 1st Love (Jesus) on Valentine's Day 2/14/2026. Linda was born October 8th 1938. The first daughter of Ernest and Daisy (McColley) Kirchner in Hanover, Illinois.
Linda found a God fearing husband when she married Arnold (Arnie) Carroll, October 9th 1981. Arnie proved to be a devoted husband, the balance of her life. Linda was quoted as saying 'My Hubby is My Hobby'. Arnies return quote was 'My Wifey is My Lifey'!
Linda spent most of her life caring for her seven children and at times several grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading books, especially those related to Biblical/Christianity, Health/Wellness and Organic Gardening.
Linda was diagnosed with two different types of life threatening cancer. Recovered, cancer free both times, by using a holistic diet, prayer and fasting.
For several years, Linda and Arnie volunteered at the local PADS Shelter. Linda was also well known for a variety of topics she wrote about in the local newspaper "Voice of the People" column. She loved Jesus and shared His Gospel. She attended several local churches over the years.
Linda grew up on a family farm in Galena, IL. And as a teenager she purchased her first Browne camera with money she earned as a corn detasseler, which led to a lifetime of family Photography. Linda was fiercely devoted to defending and supporting her seven children, even when they struggled with life challenges.
She is survived by her Husband, Arnold Carroll, her seven children: Sons, Francis (Frank) Zeal, Wilbur (Pamela) Zeal. Daughters, Luci Zeal King and Stacy Miller Andreatta. Sons, Spencer (Michelle) Williams, Adam Carroll and David Carroll. All of Ottawa. Two sisters: Darlene Farrey of Galena, IL. And Julia Kirchner of White Fish Bay Wisconsin. Twelve Grandchildren: Maria (Jaime) Harding, Daniel & Samuel Zeal, Andrew Garrison, Hope & Jack Smith. Mazie Wilson, Allison & Garret Andreatta, Violet Williams, and Darius & Sedalia Carroll. Thirteen Great Grandchildren: Owen, Landon, Maggie, Caleb, Chloe, Corey, Carson, Phoenix, Neo, Evren, Esme, Sydney and Virgil.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, at the First Baptist Church Annex Building located at 1401 State Street, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 11am -12pm. Services will be held immediately after.
