OTTAWA -- LeRoy Waterworth, 88, of Ottawa, died Thursday, Aug. 2, at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Mr. Waterworth was born April 26, 1919, in Ottawa, to Charles and Emma (Burkhart) Waterworth. He married Maxine Becker on April 26, 1949, in Ottawa. She died April 15, 2005. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater and was a retired painter for Commonwealth Edison. He was a member of Painters International Union Local 465 and 467, Da-De-Co Golf Course, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He is survived by a daughter, Gail Larson of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Kerri Blythe of Salem; one great-grandchild; one sister, Hazel Foley of Boston, Mass.; and three brothers, Frank (Mary) and Joseph, both of Kansas, and Robert of Streator. He was preceded in death by a sister, Almeda; and four brothers, Charles, Alfred "Tex," Bill and Elmer. Pallbearers will be Bill, Tom and Tim Blythe, Rob Snook, Craig Godwin and Ivan Gaines. Memorials may be directed to the family.
