Leonard M. Stohr, 85, of Ottawa, IL, died, Friday, February 18, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with the Rev. Peter Ward officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Oakwood Memorial Park, with Military Services. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Tuesday, February 22 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Leonard was born, September 30, 1925, in Byron WI, to Elmer Dorothy (Allen) Stohr. He married Jessie Johnson December 24, 1947 in Oglesby, IL. She died in 1974. He then married Diane Chevalier on June 28, 1975 in Ottawa. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater he retired from L.O.F. Glass in 1987 after 40 years. Leonard then worked for the Ottawa Communtiy Hospital for 13 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 33 and a life member of the Ottawa Rescue Squad. He is survived by his wife Diane; two sons Leonard J.(Myrna) Stohr of Guam, Steven (Sheila) Stohr of Ottawa, two daughters Laura (Gregg) Mustered of Colorado Springs CO. and Deborah (William) Evans of Ottawa. Thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Three sisters Ann (Roy) Reynolds, Gloria Beard and Sheila (James) Nanouski. Four brothers Kenneth (Jean) Stohr, Dale (Dorothy) Stohr, Wesley Stohr and Robert (Linda) Stohr, and his beloved dog "Lacey". He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Pallbearers will be Nathan and Steven Stohr, Andy and Aaron Evans, Jeff Mooney, Chris Woodyer, Don Setser and Sterling Mustered. Memorials may be directed to the family.
