Leo Wilfrid Tri, 90, of Ottawa, Illinois, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery with military services. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus. Leo was born May 16, 1921 in Pine Island, Minnesota to George and Genevieve Tri. He married Mary Tomalin on September 1, 1950 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She died March 12, 2009. He retired from International Harvester/Navistar International Corp. He was a member of St. Columba Church, Knights of Columbus, and Ottawa Moose Lodge. He served in the US Navy Air Force during WWII. He is survived by one daughter, Joan Wiesbrock of Ottawa; one son, James (Linda) Tri of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Meghan, Amy, and Lee Wiesbrock, Janice Lampron, Kristen Gaspar, Michael Tri, Nathan Tri, and Stephanie Tri. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Gary Tri. Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Restoration Fund or to the family.
