Lawrence Thomas Stiegler

Lawrence Stiegler, 88, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Pleasant View. Lawrence was born March 9, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawrence and Margaret (Briesch) Stiegler. He married Barbara Rosene on November 27, 1948 in Chicago. Larry served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Larry had been a manager for S.S. Kresge (K-Mart) and he retired from Caterpillar. He was a member of St. Columba Church. He is survived by wife Barbara of 66 years, five children Tom (Peggy) Stiegler, Annette (Mike) Johnson, Margaret (Steve) Morton and Paula Stiegler, his sister Rosemarie Homa, thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Larry was very proud of his family and enjoyed family times. He is preceded in death by parents, two brothers Jack and Ronald. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday December 3, 2014 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 to 12 noon at Ottawa Funeral Home with Military Services at Noon. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later Date.
