August 25, 1927 — March 11, 2010

LaVerne E. Grandadam, 82, of Ottawa, IL passed away Thursday March 11, 2010 at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 pm Monday, March 15 at St. Columba Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 pm Sunday March 14 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. LaVerne was born August 25, 1927 in Hibbin, MN. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Margaret Lindenmann May 29, 1946. She died June 26, 1985. He then married Mary Jane Kujawa Leszczynski July 5, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. He retired as Production Manager from Ottawa Silica after 36 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; four daughters, Mary Sue (Kim) Frye of Marseilles, IL, Carol (Raymond) Hughes of Ottawa, Nancy (James) Funk of Las Vegas, NV, and Connie Friedrichs of Waseca, MN; one son, David E. Grandadam of Marseilles; twelve grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille "Midge" Nicol of Chippewa Falls, WI; two step-daughters, Susan (Dr. Wilson) Movic and Mary Beth (Anthony) Loebach both of Bloomington, IL; four step-sons, James (Diana) Leszczynski of Bloomington, IL, Jeffrey Leszczynski of LaSalle, IL, Greg Leszczynski of Clear Water, FL, and Thomas (Megan) Leszczynski of LaSalle, IL; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren. LaVerne is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Grandadam; two brothers, Ernie and Francis; and five sisters, Mabel, Helen, Luella, Genevieve, and Grace. Pallbearers will be his Grandsons. Memorials may be directed to Donors Choice or the family.
