Laurie Lynn Jessen

Laurie Lynn Jessen, 68, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow at 7:00pm. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date.

Laurie was born November 2, 1956, in Ottawa, IL to William and Liliana (Cordovani) Dettore. She married Michael "Puggy" Jessen on May 30, 1980 in Ottawa. She worked for 20 years at GE Plastics before her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, tending to her beautiful flowers, cooking, and hosting holiday parties. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband, especially their trips to Mexico. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.

She is survived by her husband, Puggy; her children, Nicole Jessen and Craig Jessen; her grandchildren, Nevaeh, Marshall, Olivia, MJ, Evelyn, and Eleanor; and her great grandson, Archer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Liliana; her son, Michael Jessen; and her siblings, Johnny, Billy, Patty, and Susie.
