Larry G. Erickson, life long resident of Seneca , Illinois passed away suddenly on Friday, July 31 in Seneca.
Larry was born on May 19, 1940 to Clarence and Julia Holmeid Erickson. Larry attended school in Seneca and graduated from Seneca High School in 1960. After graduating from high school Larry served in the United States Army. Upon receiving an honorable discharge ,he returned to Seneca where he worked for an owner of a small grocery store and eventually owned the store himself. After closing his buisness he went on to work for Eagle Foods until he retired.
Larry is survived by nine nieces and nephews; Linda (Bonnen) Landry, Janet Bonnen, Stephen Bonnen, Michael Bonnen, Kathleen Bonnen, Jim Erickson, Betty (Erickson) Todd, Dick Erickson, Marilyn (Erickson) Marston, and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to his family he also leaves behind several very close friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Julia Erickson, a brother Donald Erickson, two sisters Norma (Erickson) Seng and Betty (Erickson) Bonnen, a niece Diana (Erickson) Danner, and great-nephew Michael Todd.
Larry is remembered fondly by his family as a kind and generous person and friend who loved to create fun times and lots of laughs. He lived life on his own terms, in his own way , and was always ready to help others. Larry had many friends in the Seneca community and his family is grateful for all the friendship and support extended to him by friends and neighbors. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
