Larry Day

Larry Allen Day, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Larry was born August 12, 1947 in Ottawa, IL to Earl and Shirley Day. He married Shirley Tungate on September 29, 1992 in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2024.

Larry worked for Napa and then worked for Red's Truck Repair for 28 years. He enjoyed working and loved his work family. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed gambling on the river boats and working on computers.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Mickey) Downey and Karen Patarozzi; his grandchildren, Justin (Kasey) Downey, Shasta (Bob Young) Downey, Dalton Downey, Kamellia Patarozzi and Kennedy Patarozzi; his great grandchildren, Hadley, Noah, and Santino; as well as his dear friends, Kira Fowler and Mike Haage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Shirley; his wife, Shirley; his grandson, Jason Grooms and his siblings, Dennis Day and Belinda Day.
