Kim Joel Duffy, 66, of Sheridan, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kim was born February 14, 1958 in Ottawa, Illinois to Gerald L. and Erma Dell (DeBolt) Duffy. He married the love of his life Kim Renee Rissman on August 21, 1976 at the home of Reverend Paul Rockey of Serena.
He worked at Plano Molding until his retirement in 2023. Kim enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved cooking, listening to music, and canoeing. He did things his own way and didn't care what others thought.
He is survived by his wife Kim, his sons Kale (Jenni) Duffy of Serena and Aaron Duffy of Sheridan; his daughter Jenna (John) Hopkins of Trussville, Alabama; his nine grandchildren, Preston, Aubrey, Kaleb, Kiley, Francesca, Rayden, Seraphina, Maverick and Colton; one great-grandchild, Sage; one brother Kent (Barbara) Duffy of Nashville, Tennessee and two sisters, Kae (Jerry) Mitchell of Hinckley and Debbi "Duffy" (Jim) Mathias of Marseilles.
Kim was preceded in death by both his parents and many beloved aunts and uncles.
The family would like to include a special mention of Kim's close friends Kurt Thompson of Norway, Jack Carr of Ottawa, and Bob Ellis of Sandwich. Both Kim and his family absolutely could not have gotten through this difficult ordeal without their help.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on August 24 at the Norway Community Building beginning at 11:00, with a short memorial service officiated by Kim's niece Megan Olson beginning at 12:00. A luncheon will follow. "Kim-casual" attire is encouraged.
