Kevin Mcalpine

Kevin Jon McAlpine, 64, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on July 20 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the VFW at 1501 La Salle St, Ottawa, IL 61350.

Kevin was born June 16, 1961 in Ottawa, IL the son of William and Opal McAlpine. Kevin worked as a carpenter and was extremely skilled in his craft. There were very few homes he hadn't worked on. Working for so many people, he got to know many lifelong friends. He didn't go anywhere where he didn't know someone. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed golfing, playing horse shoes and bocce ball. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

He is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Brenda Aussem; his children, Matthew (Sarah) McAlpine, Keith (Abby) McAlpine, and Casey (Kylie Judd) McAlpine; his grandchildren, Hunter, Madi Girl, Maverick, and Josie McAlpine; and his siblings, Bill (Mary) McAlpine, Jeff (Connie) McAlpine, Klayton (Connie) Hayes, and Paul (Sheryl Tipton) Hayes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Opal; his brother, George Hayes; and a nephew, Ricky.
