Kevin R. Calhan

Kevin Calhan, 60, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. They will always cherish his love and bright spirit. His courageous battle with cancer has ended. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 with Prayers at 3:45 pmat Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Kevin Robert Calhan was born in Ottawa to Robert Jerome and Cecilia (Geiger) Calhan on September 12, 1954. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Grade School and graduated from Marquette High School where he began his love for photography. He married Mary Hughes at St. Patrick's Church in 1977. He was the owner and operator of Calhan Farms and was an accomplished mechanic. He felt it an honor to introduce others to his long-time friend, Bill W. He is a beloved father to Antoinette Calhan of Ottawa, Sheila (Scott) Vicich of Marseilles, and Robert (Melissa) Calhan of Grand Ridge. He is a cherished "Grandpapapapa" to Irene, Genevieve, and Emma Vicich and Annabelle Calhan. He was dedicated to his faith and family, and was grateful for his good friends; especially those who made his last farming season possible. Pallbearers are Robert Kevin Calhan, Scott Vicich, Mike Lakan, Phil Wasilewski, Bill Craig, and Brian Caba. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Denny, John Kennedy, and John Hughes. Memorials may be directed to the Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and St. Francis of Assisi Church.
