Kent I. Crouch

March 8, 1928 — December 25, 2011

Kent I. Crouch, 83, of Ottawa passed away Christmas Day at Willow Crest Nursing Home in Sandwich, Illinois. Funeral Service will be 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Military Services. Visitation will be from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in DeBolt Cemetery. Kent was born March 8, 1928 in Mt. Olive, Illinois to Melvin and Ava (Lair) Crouch. He married Marcia Garrison February 19, 1955 in Ottawa, Illinois. He served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from Libby Owens Ford as a foreman. He enjoyed traveling to many car shows throughout the United States, showing off his 1941 Mercury. He was also a small plane pilot for several years and shared a plane with his lifelong friend Gay Crockett. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Marcia, and was by her side for the last 10 years at Pleasant View Nursing Home, where she resides. Kent overcame many health issues over the past 5 years, and struggled with many others. He has touched many hearts, and left many lasting impressions. He will be missed by friends, family, and very special people who have cared for him over the last 5 years, including a very special person, Brandy Thomas, who was our angel. We will miss him very much. He is survived by his loving wife; three daughters, Debra (Roger) Wieland of Ottawa, Natalie McClusky of Scottsdale, Arizona, Rose Marie (Michael) Reynolds of Ottawa; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister Marilyn Carter of North Carolina.
