Kenneth Burrows

Kenneth J. Burrows, 85, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Ottawa Pavilion. Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Military Services. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw his cremation. He will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Kenneth was born May 18, 1927 in Streator, Illinois to John and Mary (Whitney) Burrows. He married Wanda Marie Hammond on December 4, 1947 at St. Columba Church. She passed away in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from LOF after 36 years. After retirement he worked for the Daily Times for 15 years. He was a member of VFW and American Legion. Kenneth is survived by three sons, Leonard (Rona) Burrows of Utica, Jim (Linda) Burrows of Ottawa, Gary (Tammy) Burrows of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Kenda (Wes) Biffany of New Windsor, IL, Margaret "Peggy" (Paul) Mooney, of Creve Coeur, IL; seven grandchildren, Amy (Kelly) Putnam, Mat Burrows, Jamie (Jack) Ferguson, Shane Burrows, Joe Burrows, Katie Burrows, Erin Burrows; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Ferguson; one niece, Patty Barnhardt; one nephew, Kenny Hicks; and one great niece, Amanda Hicks-Barnhardt. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Marie; one son, Kenneth Michael Burrows; one daughter, Susan Gail Troutman; and two sisters, Evelyn Hicks and Rose Hicks. Memorials may be directed to the family.
