Kay Hickman

Kay Hickman, 77, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, April 11 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Driscoll officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Kay was born August 10, 1941 in Ottawa to Martin J. and Virginia (Snell) Oslanzi. She married Bernie Hickman on November 5, 1959 at St. Columba Church; he passed away May 17, 2014.

Kay lovingly took care of her children and grandchildren. She loved to read and crochet blankets for local charities. She was a member of St. Francis Church.

She is survived by six children, Mark (Colleen) Hickman, Brian (LaDawn) Hickman, Theresa Hickman, Susan (Kevin) Simpson, Christine (Lyell) Klinge, and Julie Hickman; nine grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Marshall, Dawn (Zachary) Schweickert, Shawn Hickman, Kevin Hickman, Brianne Simpson, Amanda Simpson, Chad Klinge, Brock Klinge, and Matt Leal; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Paxton, and Maxwell; one sister, Barbara (Harley) Carberry; two brothers, Martin (Mary) Oslanzi, and Michael; and her favorite cat, Rusty.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Kevin Hickman; and one sister, Bessie Oslanzi.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Matt, Chad, Brock, Shawn, Kevin, Brian, and Zach. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Sarah, Dawn, Brianne, and Amanda; and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Paxton, and Maxwell.
