Karen Marie Inman

Karen Inman, 88, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at La Salle County Nursing Home in Ottawa.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Karen was born on April 25, 1938, in Gowrie, Iowa, to Harold and Vivian (Lind) Swanson. She attended the University of Iowa's nursing program and devoted more than 25 years to her work as an OB-GYN nurse at Ottawa Community Hospital. She married Kenneth Inman on March 20, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2020. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in the Taco Tuesday, Bunco Babes, and YMCA Mermaids groups.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Vianney) Inman, Audrey Heiss, Julie (Mohi) Khan, and Sarah (Tim) Repko; her grandchildren, Natalie Khan, Alex Heiss, John Repko and Leah Repko; her great grandchildren, Karson and Wyatt Repko.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Vivian; her husband, Kenneth Inman; her sister, Irene Christianson; and her grandson, Eric Heiss.
