Karen Felty, 47, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Walker officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. A luncheon will be served in Scott Hall at the church following the service. Karen was born January 9, 1967 in Ottawa, Illinois to Emmett and Mary Lou (McCormick) Baker. She married John Felty on June 24, 1995 at the Evangelical Free Church in Ottawa. She worked for Tri-County Head Start Program as a teacher's aide. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader for 5 years for Pack 3750. She is survived by her husband, John Felty; three children at home, Rebekah, Kristopher, and Andrew Felty; her mother, Mary Lou Baker; three sisters, Kathy (Leonard) Brown, Martha (Mike) Harden, Karol (Bruce Hawkins) Baker; four brothers, Tom (Sally) Baker, Bob (Liz Rawson) Baker, Mike (Karen) Baker, and Vince (Jennifer) Baker; her father-in-law, John Felty Sr.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Emmett; and her mother-in-law, Barbara Felty. Memorials may be directed to her family.
