Kaitlynn Rhodes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kaitlynn Ellen Rhodes, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who left this world too soon on April 7, 2025, at the age of 31. Kaitlynn was born on July 1, 1993, in Ottawa, Illinois, where her radiant spirit first graced the lives of those around her.

Kaitlynn, the daughter of Anthony and Tracy Rhodes, was a source of joy and laughter for everyone she encountered. She had a unique ability to light up a room with her infectious smile and warm presence. Described by those who knew her as happy and always laughing, Kaitlynn possessed a remarkable sense of humor, a conviction for life that could sometimes be described as stubborn and an unwavering generosity; she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

As a devoted mother, Kaitlynn cherished her three beautiful children, Evielynn, Abagail, and Isabella. She had dreams of teaching them the joys of fishing, a pastime she loved dearly, and imparting her love for life onto them. Kaitlynn was not only a good cook, but she also wanted to learn to play the guitar.

Kaitlynn was part of a loving family that included her two siblings, Ryan and Jamie Rhodes. She shared an unbreakable bond with her maternal grandmother, Ruth Defenbaugh, and her paternal grandmother, Sharon Coates. Moreover, she is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Kaitlynn was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Dorothy Fleming.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Kaitlynn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the family.
