Julia "Aunt Jude" Fitzgerald

Julia A. Fitzgerald, 82, of Waltham Twp. "Aunt Jude" died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 4 at St. Mary's Church in Utica with Msgr James Swaner officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 Thursday, February 3, 2011 with prayers at 4:00 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Vincent's Cemetery in LaSalle. Julia was born February 1, 1928 in LaSalle, Illinois to John and Julia (Waldron) Fitzgerald. She graduated from St. Xaiver High Academy in 1945 and graduated from LPO Junior College in LaSalle in 1947. She taught at the "French School" a one room school house. She also worked at the LaSalle County Clerks office for many years prior to being employed by Chicago Title and Trust; where she retired in 2003. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Utica, and was a volunteer teacher's aid at Trinity Catholic Academy in LaSalle for the last eight years. Julia is survived by her two sisters, Virginia McLachlan of Freedon Township and Barbara Tunnacliffe of Loudon, TN; six nieces and nephews, Paul (Amy)McLachlan, Donald (Carol) McLachlan, Alice (James) Carey, John (Sue) Tunnacliffe, and Julie (Joel) Feldmann; thirteen great nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul and Donald McLachlan, John and Charles Tunnacliffe, James Carey, and Joel Feldmann. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Catholic Academy in LaSalle, Holy Cross School in Mendota, or for Masses.
