Judy Diaz

Judy Diaz, 74, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. She will be buried at a later date. Judy was born May 26, 1940 in Ottawa, Illinois to William and Dorothy (Urbanc) O'Keefe. She worked as a cook in Ottawa at Young's Bakery, Cora Pope Home, and LaSalle County Jail. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1958. She was a member of St. Columba Church. She is survived by her children, Kristal Diaz, Alphonso "Ponch" (Nicole) Diaz, and Tim Diaz; eight grandchildren, Courtney Diaz, Claire Diaz, Beau (Jennifer) Niedjelski, Rachel Niedjelski, Shain (Jill) Diaz, Cheyanne Diaz, Jessie Diaz, and Jill Diaz; two great-grandchildren, Joey and Jeremy Niedjelski; her sisters, Camilla (Pete) Cook of Ottawa, Wilma (Jim) Masdin of CO, Janice (Wayne) Eichelkraut, Jr. of Ottawa, and Kelley (Jim) Wagner of NC; and her beloved pets, Annie, Sweet-Pea, and Kiwi. She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Joe Diaz. Memorials may be directed to Pet Project or donor's choice.
