HOPEDALE -- Joyce Bennett, 83, of Hopedale, formerly of Ottawa, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hopedale Medical Complex. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Schoon officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Women of the Moose service at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Bennett was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Freedom Township, to Arnold and Agnes (Nelson) Severson. She married AC Bennett on Feb. 1, 1946, at the Naval Chapel in Alameda, Calif. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway and Ottawa Moose Lodge. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Ron of Palatine, Dennis of Ottawa and Dave (Vicki) Bennett of Normal; eight grandchildren, Brett, Ryan, Dava (Jon), Doug (Kari), Travis, Heather, Ashley and Amy; three great-granddaughters; and three sisters, Ferne Harmell and Janice (Vern) Lewis, both of Sun City, Ariz., and Shirley Sevlin of St. Paul, Minn. She was preceded in death by one brother, Orville, and two sisters, Mae Bastian and Dorothy Severson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
