Joseph Olle

Joseph G. Olle, 76, of Ottawa passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at his home. Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to services Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be 9:00 am Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Oakwood Memorial Park. Joseph was born February 28, 1939 in Ottawa, Illinois to Joseph M. and Kathryn (McGill) Olle. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1962-1964. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Joe looked forward to his visits every day with his aunt Esther Wheeler and had coffee each morning with his friends at the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling; whether a short drive to see the fall colors or extended trips to see family and friends. He is survived by his children, Trisha (Jeff) Wilson, Jill Olle, and Mike Olle; three grandchildren, Megan and Erin Wilson, and Joshua A. Gwin; his siblings, Marsha (Joe) Imes, David (Phyllis) Olle, and Tom (Pam) Chandler; and his special friend, Carol Ruff. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his furry friend, Molly. An account will be set up at Financial Plus Credit Union to establish a scholarship for an Ottawa High School athlete in his honor.
