Joseph Miller

Joseph F. Miller, 80, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday May 30, 2009 at his home with his wife and family at his side. Graveside services were private at St. Columba Cemetery with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Joseph was born December 5, 1928, in Peru, to William B. and Marie (Pra) Miller. He married Verna D. Midnight, October 22, 1950. Joseph worked at L.O.F until there was a major layoff. Joseph and his wife Verna moved to California where he became a Master Machinist then moved to Chino Valley, Arizona and worked in Direct Marketing until his death. They moved back to Ottawa in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 59 years; two brothers, Harold and Carl Miller of California; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lucille Marek and Delores Brooks; brother-in-laws Gaylon Marek and Rudy Alvarado. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Miller; his mother-in-law Louise Luttrell; two sister-in-laws, Patricia Alvarado and Geraldine Schomas; three brother-in-laws, Burt Schomas, Robert Hornbeck and Denny Brooks; also his two best companions Tisk and Task. Pallbearers were his nephews, Michael and Kevin Marek, Randy Alvarado, Robert Hornbeck, Terry Bell, Harvy Norwick. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Community Hospice.
