John William Wilson

John William Wilson, 72, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at VA Hines Hospital in Maywood surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with his arrangements. John was born March 8, 1943 in Ottawa, Illinois to John Joseph and Mary "Shirley" (Dickens) Wilson. He married Sheila (Derango) Cusick August 20, 1998 in Ottawa. He worked as a machinist for Burmac and Impact Industries. He proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; one daughter, Penny Wilson-Kotowski of Washington, IL; two step-children, Kelly (Mike) Marmion and Kenneth (Angel) Cusick both of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Courtney, Drew, and Brooke Kotowski of Washington, IL, Jacob, Haley Marmion and Kacie Cusick of Ottawa; two sisters, Ann (Jim) Wiggs and Karen Halliday both of Ottawa; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to his family or to the American Cancer Society.
