John R. Thrush, 67, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home, with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Monday, December 23 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Driscoll officiating. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home. He will be buried at Calvary Cemetery.
John was born May 3, 1952 in Peoria to Francis and Ellen (Sandberg) Thrush. He married Jeanne Allen on June 27, 2007 in Ottawa. John worked many jobs, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the VFW. John loved being outdoors, especially hunting, hiking, camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; two sons, John (Chrissy) Thrush of Oglesby and Cody (Cortney) Thrush of Ottawa; two daughters, Stacy Thrush of Ottawa and Brandy Allen of Marseilles; five grandchildren, Tyler, Emilee, Brayden, Quinn, and Carter; his brother, Mike (Marilyn) Thrush; five sisters, Jeanne (Jerry) Menard, Mary (Dave) Montano, Susan Cook, Barb ( Lauri) Thrush and Sharon (John) Mettille; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Kaylee; and a brother, Buddy Thrush.
Memorials may be directed to his family.
