John Pellino

John "Mike" Pellino, 74, of Ottawa formerly of Marseilles and Largo, FL passed away Friday, April 17, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date. Mike was born September 2, 1940 in Joliet, Illinois to John and Ruth (Farmer) Pellino. He married Valerie Von Tobel on May 2, 1959 in St. Francis Church in Ottawa. He retired from Joliet Caterpillar after 37 years as a supervisor. He was a true family man and cherished Friend. He loved spending time with his family, friends, he enjoyed fishing and spent many of his days at the oceans edge in Largo Florida. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mickey (Rod) Lowery, Dawn (Pete) Dilley, Lisa (Jack) Showen all of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Melanie (Chris) Popplewell, Ryan (Lesley) Lowery, Taylor Lowery, Mike (Jamie) Wolf, Tara Conrad, Morgan Wolf; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim (Jenetta) Pellino of Streator; sister-in-law, Pam(Tom) Chandler; brother-in-laws Al (Cheri) Halm, Greg (Rhonda) Von Tobel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to the Marseilles Nursing Services or St. Josephs Catholic Church of Marseilles.
